My approach to teaching acting and playwriting is by starting with the fundamentals and maintaining a sense of playful exploration. I focus on game playing, scene study, writing prompts and getting grounded, stretched out and fully immersed. Finding what unlocks each students creativity, and gets them feeling safe enough to take risks is the sweet spot. I'm a performer, theatermaker, and playwright, and co-founded and was the Artistic Director of the Obie-winning Noor Theatre, an NYC based company. Many many many years ago, I received an MFA in Acting from the University of Texas at Austin, and promptly moved in New York City where I lived for 17 years, performing off-Broadway and making comedy with my pals. Hobbies include donut hunting, going down a Reddit rabbit hole after watching a great series, writing and being in nature as much as possible.
