Marty Barrett
I teach Improvisation in a style that strengthens confidence of speech, presentation, and movement, with a hefty amount of joy and playfulness. I've toured with improv comedy groups around the country, and have studied with the late, great Keith Johnstone, author of the classic "Impro: Improvisation for the Theatre." I have also studied voice with the late Kristen Linklater of Shakespeare & Company, and teach public speaking for professionals. I work part-time at this very church, where I am the Director of Outreach And Sunday Services. I also host The Verdugo HUUT, a theme-based variety show bringing together the community with LA's great musicians, comedians, and storytellers. I am the author, most recently, of the book "Limericks of Loss And Regret," probably the fourth or fifth greatest book in the English language. My hobbies include being an avid but terrible musician.
